Rotary International
Rotary is a 102 yr. old worldwide organization of more than 1.2 million business, professional, and community leaders. Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

There are over 32,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Clubs are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds. As signified by the motto Service Above Self, Rotary’s main objective is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world.

Rotary District 3140
Rotary District 3140 in the Zone 5 of the Rotary International is one of the most important districts in the world. It comprises of 111 clubs located in the revenue district area of Mumbai and Thane.

The District 3140 (Mumbai, India) is currently lead by the District Governor Dr. Ulhas Kolhatkar. RI District 3140 has always laid emphasis on poverty alleviation and economic development. This year as a DG Dr. Ulhas Special Emphasis activity under “Women Empowerment” Micro Credit has gained a lot of imporatance in all the clubs of the district. Thus came along the idea of ‘MicroFinance Utsav 07-08’

Rotary Club of Thane East (RCTE)
Rotary Club of Thane East (RCTE) is one of the most efficient clubs in district 3140. A Silver Jubilee club, RCTE, was chartered on May 11th 1981. 27 years down its has achieved a Platinum Club level in the district and is one of the top 15 clubs among 111 clubs of the district 3140.

Throughout its 27 years it has rendered selfless service to the community and has spare no efforts to uplift the poor, economicall weaker sections of the society and under previleged students. It has always been known by its exemplary Community and Vocational Service projects in the community.

Currenly led by Kishin Harjani, the club has a healthy mix of old and young, new and seasoned enthusiastic 77 members.
